VOLUNTARY WORK
There are a number of ways you can get involved at Manchester Mind as a volunteer. We really appreciate the contribution that our volunteers make to the organisation and we do what we can to make your time with us as interesting and creative as possible. We encourage our volunteers to become involved in activities that are going on as well as help them to develop new skills for the future.
Board of Trustees
We currently have a well-balanced, experienced team of trustees, but there is always room for more! If you would like to contribute to the management and development of our organisation why not become of our trustees?
We particularly welcome applications from people who are currently using, or have used, mental health services.

Bite
Are you fed up with supermarkets and a food system that’s damaging the environment?
Then come and work for a pioneering mental health organisation that’s in the process of setting up some real alternatives!
Bite is a partnership developing opportunities in local food activities for people at risk of developing poor mental health. We are currently in the process of setting up a vegetable bag scheme based upon sustainable food systems and community led trade.
We are looking to recruit volunteers to co-ordinate bagging and delivery and who would also like to gain valuable experience of working within the mental health sector.
Bagging and delivery co-ordinators would need to be able to work every Wednesday. They would need to be drivers with access to a car and be able to make decisions regarding the bagging of vegetables while working with people with mental health needs. Volunteers would have an awareness of mental health and the barriers faced by people who have experienced mental health issues. Please see documents below for further information:

YASP
For young people aged 15-25, YASP offers the opportunity to work in the Internet café, learning new skills around cooking and food preparation and skills for employment and to move into education. There are a number of fun activities going on and all this along with a busy lively atmosphere makes for a lot of fun!
Cafe & Good Mood Food
The busy Manchester MInd Café, based in the Zion Centre, provides opportunities for adults with mental health needs who want to develop their preparation and cooking skills.
