Advice & Support

YASP offers free and confidential advice and support to 15 – 25 year olds living in Manchester.

By confidential we mean that we will not normally give out information about you to anyone outside the project without your permission.  The only time we might have to give out information is if you or someone else was at risk.  We would always try to discuss this with you first.

Difficulty with Benefits, Housing and Debt can be stressful and sometimes feel overwhelming. If you felt you needed help with any of these matters you can contact YASP and ask to see a caseworker.

If you have other worries or problems that are stressing you out, the support that caseworkers are able to give, and their knowledge about other services, can be useful in helping you to try and sort things out.

If you drop in to YASP on a Tuesday or Thursday between 2pm and 4pm you will be able to see somebody who will take your details and try to deal with any urgent matters.

Or you can ring us on 0161 221 3054 and ask to be referred to a caseworker.  Again your details will be taken and passed on to a caseworker who will then contact you directly to arrange an appointment.

If you just want to check out whether YASP would be the right place to come, just give us a ring or pop into the café.

Counselling

A counsellor is available at YASP on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to talk through any difficulties you might be having in your life. This can include current problems, and problems that might stem from past experiences.

You can book an initial session, to decide whether counselling might be useful for you, by ringing YASP or emailing info.yasp@harp-project.org.
