Bite

About us

What's Bite?

Bite works with people who have experience of mental health issues and may have used mental health services, supporting them to gain new skills and experiences through a range of enjoyable and supported volunteering opportunities.

Bite aims to make a positive contribution to health and wellbeing through the activities that take place around growing, cooking and eating food.

Bite started as a partnership between HARP and Manchester Mental Health & Social Care Trust. We are open to other partners joining us.

Any income from our cafes and caterung is ploughed back into Bite projects, so you can feel good knowing that when you do business with Bite your money goes into supporting people and projects that make a real improvement to people's health and wellbeing.

Where's Bite?

Bite links together cafes at day centres and hospitals, as well as community gardens and allotments, right across the city. This network of facilities means we can grow, cook and distribute healthy food at good affordable prices. To find out where your nearest Bite venue is just click here: Bite Map
